EU Perspective in Kosovo

From 24th of June, STIKK took part in the three-day training that has to do with the EU and how the collaboration between actors of Kosovo should be towards European integration.

The training aimed to provide knowledge on two important issues of European integration and the techniques and tools for effective communication of information to a wider audience. The training was designed for society actors such as European integration officers in the central and local level, spokesperson, media and civil society organizations which play an important role in stimulating debate about EU issues in the country and informing the general public about the EU in Kosovo.

In the end of the three-day training certificates were distributed to participants.

e-Gov in Kosovo Municipalities

STIKK took part in the conference organized by KS Kosova in cooperation with the Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities. The main topics of the conference were: Relevance of local e-Government – Growth, Benefits and prospects for the future, e-Governance in Kosovo Municipalities, and Local Digital Agenda.

During the conference it’s been discussed about the document which was prepared in the form of guidance for municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo in order to encourage the readiness of municipalities for the implementation of electronic services. On the other hand, Local Digital Agenda is a guiding document for local government, which enables the advancement and modernization of processes and administrative services in the municipality.

Meeting of the Working Sub-Group on Services

STIKK together with representatives of the Government of Kosovo, business community and business associations participated in the fourth meeting of the Working Sub-group on Services in Ministry of Trade and Industry, as part of the Trade Policy. In this meeting they discussed different issues such as CEFTA Negotiations on Services, The negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement with Turkey, and various issues on service sector.

During the meeting, participants raised some concerns that belong to the field of IT sector:
-Activity Code in ARBK which is considered to be a continues barrier, and
-Scaled VAT on services, in particular for the IT sector.

In this case Mrs. Vjollca Cavolli asked for a better cooperation between the associations, businesses and institutions to address these issues, as well as much better exchange of information in order to have positive move in this direction.
